She was incredibly skilled and knowledgeable and guided us through every phase of the project including the design, material selection and furnishings. She did a fantastic job listening, understanding, and designing a plan for our home that was both functional and reflected our vision. Michele was patient and kind as we struggled to make decisions throughout the process! She always provided us options and made sure that our personalities and taste were reflected in each choice.

She also coordinated with our general contractor on every aspect to ensure the process was proceeding smoothly and on time. Finding a designer that we could trust and rely on was so important to us. I contacted MMI Design on this HOUZZ website and they responded immediately. I had my first meeting at my home with Michele Merz explaining what I would like to do to renovate, she took notes measured and listened to my needs About a month later we went over computerized drawings that she created on the layout of kitchen and living area. Once all drawings were finalized, we worked with contractor on completion of the project. Once the project started, we would meet up to order appliances, colors of walls, backsplash tiling and drawer pulls, furnishings and window coverings. She would meet me at various store locations to pick out the various items. Michele Merz was very attentive throughout the whole process; I could pick up the phone call her or text and she would respond immediately. She would meet with vendors for install of various items. I truly enjoyed working with Michele and I am so grateful I found her!!! I AM TRULY ENJOYING MY NEW LIVING AREA AND KITCHEN!!!!!!

My husband and I purchased a 1961 home in Houston that needed a complete remodel of the kitchen and master bathroom. I contacted Michele and we met at the house & walked each room during the consultation & discussed what I would like to change & keep. Michele was so patient and so knowledgeable about not only kitchens, but everything else- flooring, tile, bath, paint, walls, windows and doors. I felt I was in great hands, and we started discussing elevating the ceiling, removing a wall, door, etc., to give me the floor plan of my dreams. Michele was practical and helped me save money and helped me decide where my purchasing power was better spent. I can't wait to post pictures of the finished product. I wanted an industrial kitchen with two-toned shelving (white uppers and black lowers) and some open shelving in the coffee bar with an added banquette in the breakfast room. I would send her pictures of what I wanted for lighting and Michele would always find me a great compliment and expertly measure each room so I knew what size I could purchase for any piece of furniture. Michele helped me pick out all of my new appliances, hardware, plumbing and flooring. Michele is smart and quick, and I always felt like everything was going to get done in the most specific and precise manner. She works great with contractors and always has photos to show if we are looking for a specific cut of countertop, so it mimics her renderings that she does herself. Great job! So happy!

Michele at MMI Design was wonderful to work with! I reached out to her for help with a big project, involving a full-home renovation. After just a few conversations with her, she was able to pick up on my style and aesthetic and help me choose design aspects that fit my personality. Before I met Michele, I was overwhelmed by all of the choices out there, and I didn’t have the time to sort through all of the choices to make decisions. Michele made this process so much faster and easier because she narrowed down the choices for me while still offering options she knew I would love. Michele stayed on top of my project the entire time, making sure the work was done right. She also has great relationships with contractors and other vendors, which made the entire design process move smoothly. Michele has a very professional yet friendly and warm personality. I trust her wholeheartedly with all design aspects of my home, and I will definitely use her again with any future projects.

We just moved back from 8 years in various overseas locations and bought an early 90's house upon our return. Michele not only helped us update much of the house, she and her team also helped us furnish many of the rooms and incorporate the eclectic pieces we acquired overseas. I was definitely overwhelmed by all the work necessary to renovate and furnish our house, but Michele broke the renovations into manageable action items and choices. From the paint colors, kitchen countertops, backsplash, flooring, lighting, window coverings and last, but not least, furnishings, Michele and her team helped us make the perfect choices for our family (including young teenagers and a new puppy!) and budget. Every time I walk in the house, it makes me smile. Not only is is beautiful, but it feels like home!

Michele is AMAZING! I love my house. I asked her to design my interior down to the color of the duvet. She was involved in choosing the flooring, paint colors, furniture, art, bedding, wallpaper, light fixtures, window treatments, etc. This was a big project. As much as I tried to delegate all the decisions to her, she didn’t let me off so easily. She kept me involved and the outcome is that I have a beautifully designed house that reflects my personality. She also communicated very well with my contractor to keep the project moving. She’s just fabulous!!

Michele was a lifesaver during our recent remodel. She was extremely organized and kept us on track. She always offered us several alternatives and really got to know our style. She encouraged us to try new designs that we would not have on our own. We love our new home and could not have done it without her.

We had the pleasure of working with Michele with MMI Design for the past 11 months. We flooded in Hurricane Harvey, August 2017. Michele embraced our remodel project with urgency, passion and genuine care. Our home needed to be taken down to the studs, and the scope of the project changed weekly. Michele was one step ahead each time and the project never fell off track. She was patient with us as we had to wait on insurance companies, etc. Michele designed us a dream house; from the new kitchen, to relocating the laundry from the garage into the house, to new bathrooms. She keeps timelines on track, has rapid response time and impeccable communication throughout the process. We moved back into our home months before anyone else and have thoroughly enjoyed every "new" inch that Michele created for us.
